Guidelines

The standards that help keep Partake safe, welcoming, and useful for everyone.

Last updated 2 August 2026

Community Guidelines

At Partake, we value diversity, integrity, and well-being. These guidelines explain what is and isn't allowed on our platform. They apply to all users, activities, and content posted on Partake. Off-platform behaviour that affects this community may also be considered.

Violating these guidelines may result in warnings, content removal, account suspension, or, where necessary, a report to law enforcement. Partake reserves the right to suspend an account for conduct that we determine to be inappropriate or harmful.

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, please report it by submitting a ticket on our Discord server.

  1. Please don't make us make a rule. Conduct yourself in a way that supports the safe, welcoming culture we want to foster.
  2. Try to resolve ordinary disagreements between yourselves. Partake is a neutral party and does not regulate or mediate personal disputes that do not involve a breach of these guidelines. Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  3. Be respectful of other people and their beliefs. Our community includes people with different backgrounds, experiences, and religious or political beliefs. Respect that others may hold views different from yours.
  4. Keep public-facing content safe for work. This includes avatars, names, statuses, artwork, and other publicly visible content. Some events may be intended for mature audiences, but explicit content must remain out of public-facing areas.
  5. Do not send unsolicited advertisements or promotions.
  6. Avoid sharing personal information about yourself or others. Protect yourself and the community by keeping personal information to a minimum.
  7. Do not break the law. This includes local, national, and international laws that apply while using our services. Partake will not tolerate:
    • Physical or psychological harm of minors
    • Sexual exploitation or activity involving minors
    • Attempts or threats to intimidate, physically harm, or kill others
    • Attempts or threats to hack, DDoS, or SWAT others
  8. Follow the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines when using our Discord server.

Content Guidelines

Content posted on Partake must help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Label your event appropriately and follow the requirements below.

Event submissions

By submitting an event, you confirm that:

  1. Your event follows our Community Guidelines.
  2. You are the organiser of the event or have permission from its organiser to post it.
  3. Images used in promotional material are safe for work. Explicit 18+ images are prohibited.
  4. The event has not already been posted on Partake.
  5. You understand that events intended for mature audiences may include content that is not suitable for everyone.

Images, posters, and other media

Content we do not allow

  • Full nudity: Visible genitalia or female nipples.
  • Sexual gestures: Gestures, poses, or actions that mimic or imply sexual acts.
  • Hateful imagery and symbols: Content that includes or promotes hate symbols, bigotry, discrimination, or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.

Content we consider mature

  • Partial or implied nudity: Excessive exposure of the buttocks or breast area, or content in which nudity is obscured but clearly implied.
  • Sexually suggestive poses or clothing: Provocative poses, simulated sexual dancing, or clothing primarily intended to sexualise the subject.
  • Sexual acts: Visual, written, or audio representations of sexual intercourse or similar activities, whether fictional or real.
  • Drug or alcohol use: Portrayals of illegal drug use, drug paraphernalia, or the promotion of substance abuse.

Titles, descriptions, and other text

Content we do not allow

  • Sensitive or explicit themes: Gore, rape, explicit sexual details, or mature content involving children.
  • Hate speech: Content that attacks or demeans people based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, identity, or another protected characteristic.

Content we consider mature

  • Explicit text: Sexual narratives, erotica, or graphic descriptions of sexual acts.

Policy enforcement

  • Notification: If content violates these policies, Partake may notify its creator and identify the content and policy involved.
  • Time to make changes: The creator may receive up to 48 hours to correct the listing. If the associated event begins sooner, the deadline is the event's start time.
  • Failure to comply: If the required changes are not made in time, the creator may receive a strike. After three strikes, their future events may automatically be classified as mature and displayed with a blur, regardless of the selected rating.
  • Prohibited content: Severe violations may be removed immediately, and the creator may be temporarily prevented from making further submissions while the matter is reviewed.

Partake Banner Spotlight Guidelines

Apply for Banner Spotlight after reviewing the requirements below.

How it works

  1. Submit your application. Apply through the Partake Spotlight application with all relevant details and imagery for your event or venue. It is best to contact a Community Ambassador before submitting.
  2. Weekly review. Our community team reviews all applications every Sunday and checks that each submission aligns with these guidelines.
  3. Final review. Selections are manually reviewed to ensure they meet our composition, quality, and event requirements.
  4. Spotlight. Your banner may be spotlighted for up to seven days. Placement is at the discretion of the Partake Staff Team and is subject to availability.

If you have any issues, such as missing images or needing help with a banner, submit a ticket in our Discord to contact the community team. We are happy to help you bring your submission up to standard.

To help us feature a diverse and exciting range of events and venues, Banner Spotlight applications must meet the following requirements.

Types of events

  • Smaller venues: We are particularly interested in intimate, cosy, community-focused experiences.
  • Roleplay venues: Venues that create immersive storytelling experiences are welcome.
  • Unique events: We welcome distinctive themes, fresh event concepts, and experiences that stand out from the usual.

Content creators

Content creators such as DJs, photographers, and designers are encouraged to apply when promoting their work or an event. The content must be relevant and well presented to be considered for the banner carousel.

Spotlight frequency

If you have been featured within the last three months, you must wait before applying again. We want to give as many venues and events as possible an opportunity, so multiple Spotlights within a short period are not permitted.

Community Ambassador visit

A Community Ambassador must have visited your venue, attended one of your events, or already be in contact with you. This helps us confirm that we are spotlighting genuine, active spaces. If you have not had a visit or made contact, consider inviting an Ambassador to your venue before applying.

Right to decline

We reserve the right to decline a banner for any reason without providing an explanation. You will be notified if your submission is accepted.

After selection

If selected, make sure your Partake event post is complete and of high quality before the Spotlight goes live. Incomplete or low-quality event posts will be skipped, and you will need to reapply during the next review cycle.

Follow these requirements so your banner maintains a clean, professional appearance across different devices.

  • Size: For most 16:9 PC screens, banners are displayed at 825 × 300 pixels.
  • Minimal logos: Banners with excessive logos will not be accepted.
  • Static images only: GIFs and other animated imagery are not permitted.
  • Safe-for-work content: Nudity and explicit content will not be accepted, regardless of whether the event is labelled SFW or NSFW.
  • Avoid excessive text: Banners resize differently across devices, so too much text may become illegible or awkwardly positioned. A title and slogan are required, although exceptions may be made depending on the banner design.
  • Rule of thirds: We recommend positioning the main subject using the rule of thirds and placing the text area on the left-hand side. This creates a balanced composition and helps ensure the text does not overpower the image.
